About Material Media:

Material Media was founded in 2007 by Elizabeth Cauthorn, a former bookstore manager who studied theology at Oblate Seminary in San Antonio, Texas. Material Media began with the desire to offer public audio works that reflected the encompassing vision of well-known spiritual authors and teachers that lent themselves to the spoken word.

Our CDs feature scripture, meditations, stories, chants, lessons, and original music inspired by ancient scripture. In these works, listeners can access the wisdom of the Benedictines and the Desert Mothers, the Celtic tradition in Christianity, beloved American gospel hymns, the healing power of the Psalms, among many other works.

The authors, readers and musicians are all highly regarded teachers, retreat leaders, ministers, and musicians. Each CD is created with the highest production values in mind.

New this year is a print publishing imprint, New Beginnings, which arose when J. Philip Newell's Prayer of Jesus was paired with the stunning images of the desert Southwest by photographer Claudia Tammen. The resulting collaboration, Ground of all Being: The Prayer of Jesus, is available in paperback and hardcover.
